The Phillie Phanatic Is Quite The Shot With The Ol' Hot Dog Cannon
PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. (WPVI) -- Kathy McVay of Plymouth Meeting learned the hard way that a hot dog can hurt.If your capable of not reading past that first sentence, you're more powerful than I.

BOOM! Headshot! And was it ever. Ms. McVay received quite the shiner.
Who would have thought what kind of damage airborne meat could cause?
I for one LOVE the hot dog cannon at sporting events due to its wild impracticality. Hot dogs aren't the most fragile food in the world, but it's not made to withstand the force that comes along with being launched out of a cannon into the upper deck by a guy in a furry green suit standing on top of the dugout.
Plus, if you're really in the mood for a hot dog, go buy one! They're probably the cheapest thing in the arena/stadium/ballpark! There's no need to break a rib diving over seats to catch a hot dog that is already smashed from the shear force of being shot out of a cannon.
The real culprit here when it comes to causing injuries is the duct tape. A hot dog wrapped in duct tape is one solid sausage. Duct tape is what turns the hot dog from a delicious treat into a weaponized wiener.
Fortunately McVay is fine for the most part and doesn't plan any legal action against the Phanatic or the Phillies.
Although, there is nothing I would love more than seeing the Phanatic wearing a suit while he sits in court.

On Monday night, McVay was at the Phillies-Cardinals game at Citizens Bank Park. She was seated behind home plate when the Phanatic rolled out onto the field with his hot dog launcher.
The big green mascot started firing away into the stands. The Phanatic shoots real hot dogs, but they are wrapped in duct tape.
One headed straight for Kathy McVay's head.

Maude was shot by t-shirts, but ironically was returning with an order of hot dogs. Just no foot-longs; they make Ned uncomfortable.
